Is the train to/from New York out of service? Well, I’m your ABC (Alternative, Backup, Contingency)! I run hourly from Palmer Square to Manhattan, all week. During peak hours, I make a few special runs to Wall St and the UN, offering you the one seat ride the train never could. Also, unlike the train, you can flag me down anywhere from Princeton to New Brunswick. However, I do get stuck in traffic, so plan accordingly if I’m your only hope to get to New York.
Want the inside track on disruptions and service changes? Get on my top secret email list. Buy your tickets online, on the CoachUSA app, or at Kenny’s Cafe and meet me at the triangle between Easton Avenue, Spring Street, and Albany Street next to the Helix. My number is 866-912-6224.

This is a flag-down route, meaning drivers are authorized to pull over at any safe location. But many stops are still marked. Stops are requested with the red buttons above the seats. There is live tracking, but it’s through the tickets and schedules portion of the CoachUSA ticket website. The website doesn’t automatically update like NJ TRANSIT’s DepartureVision software, so if you want to check on the status of your bus, you have to refresh the page and reenter your origin and destination.
Tickets can be purchased by credit card on the “Coach USA” app (on the App Store and Google Play), website, or in cash at Kenny’s Cafe (Kirkpatrick and Albany, open Mon-Sat). Here’s a list of other locations where you can buy tickets for Coach USA’s Suburban Transit routes. But keep in mind, locations away from the 100, 500, and 600 corridors may only have tickets for other routes. You can also pay in exact change on the bus. The fare structure is complicated, but just say where you’re going, and they’ll help you out.
**TRANSIT TRIUMPH** You can now add your CoachUSA tickets to your Apple or Google Wallet! When you purchase your tickets, below the ticket’s QR code, there are options to add your tickets to your mobile wallet. This is much easier than trying to track down your tickets in your email.
New Brunswick to New York City’s Port Authority Bus Terminal | $16.45 ($15.45 + $1.00 “fuel surcharge” per ticket)

App Data Accuracy
Suburban Transit is a low level offender. | Schedules displayed on Google are accurate, however stop markers are placed at intervals of approximately 3 miles, despite it being a flag-down route. Use Google Maps only as a schedule viewer, not a trip planner. Go to the CoachUSA website to view schedules.
